- Discuss legislation and regulations impacting donation within his/her state.
- Identify the two types (organ/tissue) of donation events.
- Verbalize the proper way in which the offer of donation should be handled and informed consent obtained.
- List three common family and professional concerns/questions regarding the donation process.
- List three types of surgical applications utilizing allograft tissue.

Handling of Human Eye Tissue: Are You In Compliance? Contact Hours (MNA, INA, NJSNA pending): 1.2 Continuing Education Hours Suggested Audience: O.R. Staff, Surgicenter Staff, Blood Bank Staff, Surgeon Office Staff Course Objectives: Upon completion of this offering the participant will have the ability to: - Summarize the general donation/screening/recovery/processing of eye/corneal tissue for transplant.
- Identify the different types of corneal/eye tissue storage media/methods.
- Outline the process for recipient/documentation tracking and storage of eye/corneal tissue for transplant.
- List the steps in the process by which tissue is obtained for surgery.
- Describe the five "R's" in relation to receipt and handling of tissue at his/her facility.
- Explain the procedure for contacting the Eye-Bank with questions/problems.
- List at least three surgical applications for use with allograft ocular tissue.
